Real Estate Brokers
Guide to receive a broker license
Real Estate Brokers
In order to receive a Broker license in the state of Massachusetts you must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a licensed salesperson and must have been actively associated with a real estate Broker for at least three years, and have worked a minimum of 25 hours per week in that period. (This must be confirmed on the booklet before taking the exam by the broker employer.)
- Applicants must complete 40-hours of classroom training and pass the state examination.
- Must file a $5000.00 bond with the Board of Registration of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons prior to issuance of license. The cost of this bond is $50.00 for a five- year bond.
Upon your passing the Broker’s exam, you will be eligible to open your own real estate office in Massachusetts.
